Our fast and efficient production capabilities allow us to print and fulfill over 500 million direct mail pieces each year. Knowing this, we understand the importance to invest in recycling programs for both our paper and production waste. These programs have helped us reduce the ecological footprint of our products and operations.
Each year we look at the numbers of what we have recycled and the energy we have saved and push ourselves to do better the following year. We know that many clients are seeking to work with partners that are conscientious of their sustainability efforts, and we are happy to deliver on those requirements.

In addition to the efforts accomplished above, we take the time to vet our suppliers to make sure we are purchasing responsibly sourced paper. As we make stock choices, we select those that have obtained Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification. Doing so means that we can offer eco-friendly paper for our client's projects.
On top of ensuring that our stock meets our commitment to sustainability, we work to find other areas in our process that we can improve. Such areas include simple fixes to light fixtures. We switched to using LED lighting in our print facilities as it contains no toxic materials and is 100% recyclable. Another area we have improved upon is our delivery trucks that transport client products. We have installed Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) on our trucks to reduce the amount of air pollution created with each delivery. Plus, we partner with FedEx for regular mail and parcel deliveries to reduce the number of trucks delivering.
The advanced equipment we use paired with data hygiene also plays a role in our sustainable efforts. We purchase equipment that can do multiple jobs, such as the Océ ProStream and the Epic Print Inserter. These machines reduce waste and inventory obsolescence which in turn creates quicker, efficient manufacturing times while eliminating the need to manage an excess of pre-printed masters.
To ensure we are only printing the necessary number of mail pieces, our Data Science team curates and cleans consumer mailing lists. This means they are sweeping through lists to make sure they are as up-to-date as can be based on the information we receive from our data sources. Doing this helps us to remove addresses that are no longer deliverable so that we don’t unnecessarily overproduce and waste materials.
