Since taking the reins of the family business in 1993, Janice has helped to develop Darwill's successful team leadership management system. She leads the six-person Management Team, and serves on Darwill's finance board and employee committee board. Janice's key roles in the company include facilitating employee-management communications and overseeing the direction, character, and day-to-day operations of the business. Her goals have been company growth with high quality control.
With a degree in Social Work and Psychology from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, MI, Janice states her business training comes from years of assisting her late husband William Van Dyke, with company decision-making. Janice is a member of the Board of Trustees of Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan, the Advancement committee for Elim Christian School, on the Facility Management Team for Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, and a member of the University of Illinois Chicago Family Business Council (FBC) forum of Owners/CEOs. Janice is also a member of the Women Business Development Center (WBDC), the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and the Committee of 200 - an invitation-only professional organization of women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders. |
